As a Band 2 Engagement Advisor, you will work within BCOHRC to realize the provincial engagement strategy. Your focus will involve using human rights-based approaches while incorporating decolonizing principles. Building partnerships with communities and stakeholders in non-profit, public, Indigenous, and private sectors is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement the provincial engagement plan regionally
• Utilize human rights-based approaches for community interaction
• Foster relationships with diverse community stakeholders
• Enhance public access to human rights materials and processes
• Align engagement efforts with BCOHRC’s strategic priorities
Requirements:
• Experience in community engagement and advocacy
• Understanding of decolonizing principles
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Knowledge of human rights frameworks in B.C.
• Relevant educational background or experience in related fields
