We are hiring for a Part Time RN, Medical Imaging at Royal Columbian Hospital

- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of a recognized high acuity specialty nursing certificate and one (1) year of recent related interventional medical imaging experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate.

Services include 24/7 emergency, outpatient, ambulatory care and a range of inpatient services which are supported by a range of community services. The Royal Columbian Hospital Redevelopment Project is well under way and is a multi-year, multi-phase project to increase the hospital’s capacity, beds, and services by about 50 per cent.

Detailed OverviewIn accordance with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) standards of practice and the mission and values of Fraser Health, this role provides direct nursing care to patients within the Medical Imaging Department according to established standards and administrative policies and procedures. Responsibilities include assessing and monitoring patients’ physical and psycho-social needs; identifying problems, planning, implementing, documenting, evaluating and coordinating nursing care;
performing scrubbing and circulating duties; consulting and collaborating with other health care providers and the Medical Imaging team; and demonstrating continuous improvement and best practice approaches in nursing.
Observes and detects significant and/or life‑threatening changes to patient’s condition, and intervenes to manage changes; evaluates outcomes to these interventions. Acts to resolve problems or to relieve care/emergent situations.
Administers blood products and oxygen therapy.
