About the Role
Bring your clinical expertise, dedication, and passion for providing quality, compassionate care to a challenging and rewarding role as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Orthopaedic Surgery at Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH). We seek experienced NPs to join our dynamic Orthopaedic Surgery team, delivering comprehensive care to patients with complex medical needs across the continuum of elective and non‑elective orthopedic surgical care.
The NP works within a team‑based model, collaborating closely with orthopaedic surgeons, interprofessional colleagues, and patients from admission through discharge or transfer.

- Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients across the continuum of elective and non‑elective orthopaedic care
- Provide appropriate orders, screening investigations, and medication management within NP scope
- Communicate health findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans to patients, families, and team members
- Prescribe drugs and administer care in accordance with statutory and regulatory standards
- Participate in quality improvement, education, and research initiatives, documenting accurately in Meditech Expanse
- Collaborate with physicians and other health professionals for assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
- Supervise and evaluate nursing and health care personnel as necessary
- Maintain population health focus, implementing screening and health promotion for at‑risk groups
- Contribute to interdisciplinary education through case presentations, mentoring, and facilitation
- Support policy and procedure development related to nursing and health system practices
- Perform other duties as required by the role
- Active registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
- Recent relevant clinical nursing experience

- Critical assessment of health research literature to guide best practices
- Population health trend assessment and implementation of prevention and promotion strategies
