Fraser Health Authority is hiring a Regular Part‑time Registered Nurse for its Cardiac Services team at Royal Columbian Hospital & Surrey Memorial Hospital in Current Westminster & Surrey, B.C.

Salary: CAD $41.42 – $59.52 per hour

Detailed Overview

In accordance with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) standards of practice, the Registered Nurse provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, providing and evaluating nursing care to patients in an acute medical unit.

Responsibilities
  • Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care of assigned patients. Identifies actual or potential problems, plans interventions, performs planned interventions and evaluates outcomes. Collects information from a variety of sources using skills of observation, communication, data review and physical assessment.
  • Coordinates and provides nursing care to assigned patients according to physician and anaesthetist orders and in conformance with established standards and hospital policies. Sets priorities, assigns and delegates tasks to appropriate staff.
  • Modifies care as needs change. Initiates immediate treatment, such as applying non‑invasive monitoring devices if required.
  • Explains procedures to the patient and/or teaches the patient how to deal with the result of the procedure.
