Join Fraser Health as an Emergency Psychiatric Liaison Nurse, offering vital care to psychiatric patients in an acute setting. Focus on assessments, crisis intervention, and direct patient support in the Emergency Department.

In this challenging role, you will provide person-centered, recovery-oriented care as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse. Your responsibilities include performing intake assessments, collaborating with an interprofessional team, and ensuring effective patient flow. You will apply your expertise to develop and modify care plans while advocating for patients’ needs in a diverse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive referrals from various departments for psychiatric patients

• Conduct detailed psychosocial assessments for accurate care planning

• Develop care plans in consultation with medical professionals

• Provide crisis counseling and general support to patients

• Maintain documentation of patient assessments and outcomes

Requirements:

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing

• Current registration with BCCNM as RN or RPN

• One year recent experience in mental health setting

• Knowledge of mental illness and substance use

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
