Position: Fraser Health Psychiatric Liaison Nurse Role
Location: New Westminster

Serve as a Psychiatric Liaison Nurse with Fraser Health, delivering critical support for psychiatric patients in emergency situations. Engage in intake assessments and crisis intervention strategies to enhance patient outcomes.

As an integral member of the emergency care team, you will focus on evidence-based practice and patient advocacy within the Emergency Department.

Your role includes conducting psychosocial assessments, facilitating transfer processes, and collaborating on individualized care plans. Your input will be essential in improving patient flow and overall services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle referrals and assessments for psychiatric patients

• Craft and update care plans based on assessments

• Deliver direct psychiatric nursing care based on treatment needs

• Assist in discharge planning and aftercare referrals

• Promote effective communication among care team members

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse certification

• BCCNM registration and recent mental health experience

• Proficiency in crisis intervention techniques

• Ability to provide empathetic, patient-focused care

• Effective collaboration skills within a healthcare team
