Deliver critical care at Royal Columbian Hospital’s Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit in New Westminster, using advanced cardiac therapies and assessment skills.
Fraser Health seeks a Registered Nurse for its specialized 10-bed CSICU. Care for critically ill cardiac surgical and medical patients while supporting open-heart and emergency surgery cases. The unit provides ECMO, CRRT, IABP, and open-chest management.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care
Collect information through observation, communication, and physical assessment
Communicate patient care plans with healthcare teams and families
Advocate for patient autonomy, privacy, dignity, and information access
Participate in quality improvement activities and cardiac research
Requirements:
Graduate of an approved nursing school
Current Registered Nurse registration with BCCNM
Critical Care Level 2 course completion
Cardiac Surgery and recent acute care critical care experience
Current Basic Rescuer Certificate
Apply cardiac critical care expertise, advanced therapy knowledge, and collaborative nursing practice within Fraser Health’s specialized CSICU.
