Director of Landscape Maintenance & GROW Program Assistant
Sutherland Landscaping is looking for a unique kind of leader.

This position combines leadership within our Landscape Maintenance Division with an important role supporting our GROW apprenticeship and development program. GROW exists to provide young adults with more than just a job. Through meaningful work, mentorship, practical skill development, accountability and leadership opportunities, we want to help young people develop skills that will serve them in work and in life.
Landscape or horticultural experience is an asset, but we are equally interested in someone with strong experience in leadership, mentoring, administration, customer service, teaching, coaching or team development who is willing and able to learn the technical side of landscape maintenance.
What You Will Do- Lead, coach and support landscape maintenance crews.
- Help crews plan and execute their daily and weekly work.
- Maintain high standards for quality, efficiency and attention to detail.
- Regularly inspect properties and identify work that needs attention.
- Communicate with clients, strata representatives and residents.
- Respond to client questions and concerns professionally and promptly.
- Assist with scheduling, time tracking and project management software.
- Help develop and implement standard operating procedures.
- Ensure equipment, trucks, trailers and work areas are maintained and organized.
- Work alongside crews in the field when required.
- Help create a culture of ownership, teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Genuinely enjoys developing and mentoring people.
- Can lead with both encouragement and accountability.
- Is organized and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities.
- Communicates professionally with customers, employees and leadership.
- Takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do.
- Can give clear direction and follow up when expectations aren't met.
- Is comfortable working both outdoors with crews and indoors completing
- administrative responsibilities.
- Is dependable, positive and willing to jump in wherever needed.
- Values excellent workmanship and takes pride in well-maintained properties.
- Is comfortable learning new systems, processes and technical skills.
- Has a valid driver's licence.

Some compensation and benefits included are:
- $34–$42/hour depending on relevant experience
