Full-Time Turf Technician Position

Join the team in Fort McMurray as a dedicated Turf Technician with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. This full-time role specializes in turf management for municipal parks and public assets.

You will play a crucial role in the Public Works Department, maintaining and enhancing parks and sports fields while overseeing a variety of turf management tasks. The ideal candidate will possess a Turfgrass Management Diploma and relevant experience in a similar role. Enjoy a consistent four 10-hour work shifts model while engaging in problem-solving and equipment operations to achieve optimal turf conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct technical turf management activities

• Develop maintenance plans for diverse green spaces

• Lead projects and mentor seasonal staff

• Manage inventory for turf supplies

• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment

Requirements:

• Diploma in Turfgrass Management with three years’ experience

• Class Five Operator’s License required

• Knowledge of turf care practices and procedures

• Proficient in operating turf management machinery

• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather
