This supervisory role entails planning, assigning, and reviewing tasks for maintenance crews dedicated to enhancing Burnaby's natural beauty. You'll participate in various activities including habitat restoration, invasive species control, and minor park construction. Additionally, you'll assist in budgeting, monitor expenses, and ensure crews operate under stringent safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and plan work for maintenance crews
• Participate in parks mowing, irrigation, and eco-sculpture tasks
• Monitor budget estimates and actual expenditures
• Facilitate training, motivation, and discipline for crew members
• Engage in snow and ice control activities during winter
Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12; related training preferred
• Considerable experience in grounds maintenance
• Knowledge of safety standards and environmental practices
• Valid Driver’s Licence for British Columbia
• Ability to maintain accurate electronic records
