Location: New Westminster
Support animal welfare as an Animal Care Attendant with the City of New Westminster’s Animal Shelter. Engage in diverse tasks like animal feeding, handling, and providing medical care.
In this on-call role, you will care for various impounded animals in a well-regarded urban service environment. The City of New Westminster seeks dedicated candidates possessing considerable experience in animal care, an understanding of veterinary protocols, and excellent customer service skills. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure animal health and shelter operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Feed and care for impounded animals daily
• Clean and disinfect kennels and cages regularly
• Administer medications per veterinary instructions
• Transport animals to veterinary clinics as needed
• Provide orientation to volunteers regarding animal care
Requirements:
• Completion of Grade 12 with animal care experience
• Knowledge of animal care practices and procedures
• Understanding of medications for animals in care
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License is an asset
• Clear criminal/police record check required
