Position: Phased Array Technician (Lead)

Acuren is seeking a Lead Phased Array Technician to join our team in Burnaby, BC. This is your opportunity to work in a fast-paced industrial environment where your expertise is valued, your growth is supported, and no two days look the same.

Responsibilities Inspection & Technical Execution:
  • Perform advanced ultrasonic (PAUT) inspections on welds, materials, and components
  • Set up, configure, and calibrate equipment, including probe angles and scan parameters
  • Interpret A-scan, B-scan, and S-scan data to evaluate structural integrity
  • Apply additional NDT methods (UT, MT, PT, RT) as required
  • Identify discontinuities, corrosion, and non-conformances with precision
Analysis, Reporting & Compliance:
  • Document and evaluate inspection results (defect type, size, location, severity)
  • Prepare detailed, code-compliant reports (ASME, API, and client specs)
  • Develop and follow scanning procedures aligned with industry standards
  • Ensure all work meets regulatory, client, and internal quality requirements
  • Support QA/QC initiatives and uphold high inspection standards
Collaboration, Equipment & Safety:
  • Work closely with engineers, inspectors, and project teams
  • Provide technical insights to support asset integrity and reliability
  • Maintain and verify PAUT equipment for optimal performance
  • Conduct routine software/hardware checks per manufacturer guidelines
  • Champion a strong safety culture and follow all site and corporate protocols
Requirements Certifications & Technical Requirements:
  • Valid PAUT Certification (CGSB, CSWIP, or PCN)
  • CGSB Level 2 UT certification
  • Additional CGSB certifications are an asset
  • IRATA training (or willingness to obtain) is considered an asset
