Chemistry Technician

Contribute to public health with MERIEUX NUTRISCIENCES as a Chemistry Technician on a fixed-term contract in Burnaby. You’ll assist with chemical preparations and sample analyses to ensure lab quality and safety.

In this role, you’ll directly support the wet and instrumental chemistry operations, focusing on media, chemical preparation, and sample management. You'll perform routine analyses such as moisture and pH, ensuring the lab maintains cleanliness and compliance with quality standards. A diploma in chemistry is preferred, but experience is also valuable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare media, chemicals, and reagents for analysis

• Conduct routine sample analysis and manage sample integrity

• Maintain cleanliness of laboratory and stock supplies

• Update logbooks and adhere to quality control processes

• Support maintenance staff with cleaning and maintenance tasks

Requirements:

• Diploma in chemistry, microbiology or food science preferred

• Ability to follow specific instructions precisely

• Strong verbal communication skills

• Understand lab operations to avoid testing delays

• Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
