Your new role

Reporting directly to the Property Manager, the Resident Building Manager / Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of a rental portfolio in Burnaby as well as providing exceptional service to tenants to contribute to provide a positive living experience. This role is a live-in opportunity located in Burnaby. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Conduct routine inspections of the building and building grounds to identify and report maintenance needs, including issues related to mechanical systems, waste management, and landscaping.
  • Oversee building security systems as well as tenant and guest parking.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs within the building and tenanted suites, and coordinate with contractors and trades as required.
  • Organize and conduct tenant move-ins and move-outs, conduct suite inspections, and manage suite turnover to ensure readiness for move-in.
  • Collect rent and security deposits and ensure that they are properly deposited.
  • Prioritize and manage work orders, using problem-solving skills to address issues timely and efficiently.
  • Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities.
  • Additional duties as required.
  • What you'll need to succeed

    The ideal candidate will bring high-level interpersonal skills and a customer service approach to Building Management & Building Maintenance. You will bring a proactive mindset and the ability to self-start and reprioritize tasks based on building needs.
  • 3+ years’ experience in rental building management / maintenance.
  • Experience with maintaining building and mechanical systems, including plumbing, electrical and drywall.
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including snow removal and lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Excellent written and verbalmunications skills.
  • Ability to be on call for emergencies.
  • Experience using Yardi is an asset.
