SFU Quantum Communications Researcher

Join Simon Fraser University as a Quantum Communications Researcher. This role focuses on real-world application and development of quantum secure networks in a hybrid work environment.

In this position at the Jennewein and Higginbottom Laboratories, you will support the Vancouver Quantum Network’s mission. We seek a postdoctoral-level researcher or experienced engineer with deep expertise in telecom systems, quantum optics, and experimental networking. Enhance the collaboration between SFU, industry, and governmental entities through innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Integrate quantum technologies with telecom infrastructure

• Maintain and troubleshoot experimental photonics setups

• Ensure interoperability across diverse quantum systems

• Act as a liaison for multi-institution partnerships

• Support project documentation and performance benchmarks

Requirements:

• PhD in relevant technical field

• Hands-on experience in quantum systems or optics

• At least 2 years in related industry or academia

• Familiarity with project coordination and technical documentation

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
