Duties
Reporting to the technical unit supervisor, conducts complex diagnostic and/or research analytical procedures in food chemistry. Evaluates, reviews, and interprets analytical data. Troubleshoots, investigates, and solves performance issues with laboratory methods and equipment. Maintains comprehensive records of samples, observations, measurements, and tests conducted. Contributes to the laboratory quality assurance system and safety management system.
Work Environment
Employees must be present in the laboratory; telework is not a possibility.

Essential Education
Graduation with a degree or diploma from a recognized post‑secondary institution, specializing in Chemistry or Biochemistry or other related specialty; or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience in a laboratory environment.
Essential Experience
Experience working in an analytical laboratory environment under a quality management system.
Experience in the use and maintenance of analytical instrumentation for chemical analysis, such as HPLC, UHPLC/UPLC, or LC‑MS.
Essential Knowledge
Laboratory safety practices, including safe handling of hazardous materials.
Principles and practices of biochemistry and analytical chemistry.
Liquid chromatography and related detection methods.

Language Requirements
English essential.
Additional Qualifications
Practical laboratory experience in performing complex analysis to identify and quantify chemicals (e.g., nutrients, contaminants, toxins, allergens) in food matrices.
Experience in method development, adaptation or validation.
Experience using immunological methods such as ELISA.
Experience working in an ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory.
