We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to oversee weekend operations at our thrift store location. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage store activities efficiently. This role involves supporting store management in daily tasks, supervising staff, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers. Retail and volunteer management experience are highly valued to foster effective communication and team coordination.

• Assist in managing daily store operations during weekends, ensuring smooth workflow and high customer satisfaction;
• Supervise and motivate volunteers and staff, providing training and development opportunities to enhance team performance;
• Oversee merchandising and pricing strategies to optimize sales opportunities;
• Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained;
• Manage POS systems, cash handling, and cashiering duties accurately and efficiently;
• Coordinate marketing initiatives within the store to boost sales and brand visibility;
• Assist administrative tasks such as scheduling and reconciliation;
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and store standards at all times; and,
• Opening and closing of the store as scheduled.

• Proven supervisory or team management experience in retail sales or store management roles;
• Strong background in merchandising, sales management, and customer service excellence;
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and thrift store pricing strategies;
• Experience in recruiting, training & development, and administrative functions;
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively and manage time efficiently; and,
• Previous experience with marketing strategies within a retail environment is an asset
