As an Integrated Guarding Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring live video feeds while based within our Operations Centre in Burnaby. The role requires quick decision-making and the ability to handle alarm events and incidents efficiently while maintaining professionalism. You should be comfortable working independently, and be confident and assertive to use verbal communication over a two-way radio to deter active crime.
Location: This role is fully office-based in our Operations Centre in Burnaby.
Shifts: We are currently looking for three full-time Operators for day hrs) or afternoon hrs) shifts. All schedules include at least one weekend shift.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of one (1) year of work experience as a Security Officer and/or in a monitoring dispatch environmentExcellent situational awareness, judgement, and decision-making under pressureExcellent written and verbal communication skillsComfortable working independently in an Operations Centre environmentComfortable with using security monitoring platforms and technologyExperience with Immix GF is considered an assetAbility to notice and act on small details that could be crucial in preventing security breachesRESPONSIBILITES:
Monitor live video feeds, alarms, and cameras across multiple client sitesIdentify and assess security-related incidents in real time; follow intervention and escalation protocolsUtilize the "talkdown" system to communicate and deescalate the potentially threatening situations, maintaining confidence and authorityAct quickly and decisively when handling alarm events, taking appropriate action and close the events with right outcomesFollow the set instructions for each site and ensure compliance with standard proceduresLog activities, mobile dispatches, and documents for all events; accurately document incidents, alarms and actions taken on reports for management and clientsCommunicate with emergency responders and/or clients during critical eventsEnsure that all necessary information is passed on to the next Operator or shift in a clear, concise, and accurate mannerPerform other duties as required to meet operational needs
