Be part of Convergint’s mobile Security Systems Technician team. This role requires regular travel outside the local Convergint Technology Centre area and offers a 14‑day on / 14‑day off shift, with accommodation provided for the duration of each shift.

• Install, program, test, repair, and service a broad variety of security systems and equipment.
• Read complex blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation requirements.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and debug systems to isolate and fix equipment or software problems.
• Operate systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance, and identify malfunctions.
• Write non‑routine programs of substantial variety and complexity for systems.
• Provide custom systems integrations, detailed upgrades, audits, and consultation as needed.
• Consult with engineering teams to resolve unusual problems in system operation, maintenance, and warranty work.
• Act as Convergint’s customer service provider at all times, ensuring safety, quality, and performance on onsite projects.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

• Minimum five years of security systems field service experience.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance (an asset).
• Mobile position with significant travel required.
• Diploma in electronics or relevant trade experience preferred.
• Industry certifications such as Lenel, Genetec, CCure, AMAG, Kantech, or Avigilon are assets.
• Advanced technical skills related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
• Self‑starter who works well with minimal supervision.
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (hand and power tools).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Advanced organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
