Security Technician – PARACHUTE TEAM 14/14

Be part of Convergint’s mobile Security Systems Technician team. This role requires regular travel outside the local Convergint Technology Centre area and offers a 14‑day on / 14‑day off shift, with accommodation provided for the duration of each shift.

Responsibilities- Install, program, test, repair, and service a broad variety of security systems and equipment.
- Read complex blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation requirements.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and debug systems to isolate and fix equipment or software problems.
- Operate systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance, and identify malfunctions.
- Write non‑routine programs of substantial variety and complexity for systems.
- Provide custom systems integrations, detailed upgrades, audits, and consultation as needed.
- Consult with engineering teams to resolve unusual problems in system operation, maintenance, and warranty work.
- Act as Convergint’s customer service provider at all times, ensuring safety, quality, and performance on onsite projects.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
- Minimum five years of security systems field service experience.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance (an asset).
- Mobile position with significant travel required.
- Diploma in electronics or relevant trade experience preferred.
- Industry certifications such as Lenel, Genetec, CCure, AMAG, Kantech, or Avigilon are assets.
- Advanced technical skills related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
- Self‑starter who works well with minimal supervision.
- Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (hand and power tools).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Advanced organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
