The Shelter Resource Worker plays a pivotal role within a 24/7 emergency shelter, addressing the challenges faced by homeless adults, including mental health and addiction-related issues. The position requires adaptability across various shift schedules, ensuring ongoing support throughout the week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide essential support to homeless adults in the shelter

• Manage referrals and work with community partners

• Assist guests in accessing necessary services

• Conduct interviews and ensure safe environments

• Complete documentation and maintain necessary records

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12 or relevant Certificate with 2 years experience

• Awareness of addiction and mental health resources

• Essential Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certification

• Solid communication and documentation skills

• Clear criminal record for working with vulnerable populations
