Position: Indigenous Outreach Worker Role at SD40
Location: new westminster

Enhance Indigenous student success as an Outreach Worker with School District No. 40. This impactful position focuses on collaboration with families and community to promote student engagement and well-being.
You will work closely with the District Principal of Indigenous Education and Equity, engaging Indigenous students and families through individualized support strategies. Key functions include home visits, participation in consultative meetings, and developing engagement plans aligned with unique student needs and available resources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create supportive relationships with Indigenous students and families

• Develop and implement personalized re-engagement strategies

• Collaborate with educators and community partners

• Analyze data to track student progress and outcomes

• Conduct community outreach and home visits as needed
Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Indigenous Studies, or related area

• At least two years’ experience in outreach or similar roles

• Experience with case management and community partnerships

• Understanding of trauma and its impact on students

• Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence to conduct outreach work
