Aunt Leah's Family Support Worker

Location: New Westminster

Make a significant impact as a Family Support Worker with Aunt Leah’s in the Thresholds II Program. Support mothers and children facing housing challenges with trauma-informed guidance.

This full-time position focuses on assisting vulnerable families, helping them build parenting and life skills while fostering healthy development. You will provide vital emotional guidance, support during crises, and help families access community resources. Your compassionate nature and non-judgmental approach are essential as you navigate complex familial situations, ultimately striving for the well-being and independence of both mothers and their children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build trauma-informed, trusting relationships with families

• Support parenting and independent living skills

• Maintain a safe, respectful environment

• Respond to crises and de-escalate situations

• Collaborate with community partners for resources

Requirements:

• Child and Youth Care Diploma or equivalent

• 1-2 years’ experience in social services

• Clear Criminal Record and Police Check

• Food Safe Certificate

• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License is an asset
