Support mothers and children in crisis as a Family Support Worker at Aunt Leah’s Thresholds II Program. This role emphasizes building resilience and stability for families at risk.
You'll provide comprehensive, trauma-informed support aimed at reducing the chances of homelessness and family separation. Your work will involve guiding mothers through critical life challenges, enhancing their coping strategies and parenting skills while ensuring a nurturing environment. By offering practical coaching and connecting families to essential resources, you will play a crucial role in their journey toward independence and long-term well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
• Offer one-on-one support to mothers and children
• Facilitate development of life skills and financial literacy
• Maintain participant safety and oversee household tasks
• Document progress and update case notes
• Engage with external service providers for support
Requirements:
• Diploma in Child and Youth Care or related field
• Minimum 1-2 years' experience supporting at-risk families
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check required
• Food Safe Certificate
• Cultural safety training beneficial
