Make a difference as a Shelter Support Worker with Purpose Society at their New Westminster location. This role focuses on safe housing for clients facing various challenges, offering weekday and weekend shifts.

The Purpose Society is dedicated to community service, supporting men and women at their shelter. You will be responsible for client intake, assessments, service planning, and maintaining a secure environment. This role demands the ability to assist vulnerable populations through direct support and guidance in crisis situations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform client intake and needs assessments

• Oversee shelter safety through active monitoring

• Conduct housekeeping duties, including cleaning and cooking

• Support clients’ housing and employment goals

• Manage emergency situations according to protocols

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education and two years of shelter experience

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HIFIS

• Strong communication skills and non-judgmental attitude

• Ability to work with challenging clients

• Valid First Aid and Food Safe Certificates
