In this impactful role, you will work with a dedicated team of professionals in Youth Justice and Forensic Psychiatric Services. Applicants should have a High School Diploma and two years of relevant experience working with youth or vulnerable populations. You'll develop vital communication and conflict resolution skills while helping youth build self-esteem and make better decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain safety for youth and staff in custody
• Foster positive relationships with youth in a custodial setting
• Collaborate with mental health and probation officers
• Utilize a trauma-informed approach to support youth
• Implement strategies for self-esteem and behavior development
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum two years related experience
• Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license
• Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
• Willingness to undergo security screening and medical assessment
Support youth in developing safer social behaviors and achieve personal growth as a Youth Correctional Officer.
