About the Opportunity
A growing software company with operations across Canada is looking for a Lead Software Quality Engineer to join their thriving R&D group. Reporting to the Director, Engineering, this individual will lead a team of 4-6 skilled Software Quality Engineers and provide technical leadership and ownership of the entire software testing infrastructure and test strategy. This role requires deep, holistic knowledge of complex distributed systems from a software testing perspective, covering database testing, API-level test development, front‑end test automation, performance testing, and Dev Ops & CI/CD.
This is a mid‑sized company that specializes in providing SaaS‑based software solutions to a global, telecom‑focused client base. The company is 100% remote‑friendly, with the exception that only candidates residing within Ontario will be considered.
About You
- B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar field.
- 2+ years of people leadership experience (managerial or team lead) and a strong team‑first approach.
- 6+ years of software testing and quality engineering experience across the testing landscape—including back‑end and front‑end testing, database testing, and performance testing—ideally within complex, distributed systems and telecom environments.
- Strong scripting/programming background using languages such as Java, JavaScript, C#, Python, etc., and tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Postman, Playwright, Katalon, REST Assured, and others.
- Strong exposure to microservices and containerised environments with expertise in Docker and Kubernetes, CI/CD pipeline automation, AWS or Azure cloud, and system/network configuration.
About the Job
Our client is offering a comprehensive compensation package that includes a base salary of $90,000 to $100,000 plus a bonus of approximately 10‑15%, full benefits, and other standard perks.
