Job Description
As Staff Software Developer at Fortinet, you will be responsible for the full development cycle of newer and award-winning flagship Fortinet products. You will participate in troubleshooting and testing, as well as in design and development of new features. You will work with the latest technologies for next-generation high-performance distributed security systems.
Our team focuses on developing key components of Forti Analyzer, which manages performance and scalability for data analysis of security log data.
Job Responsibilities
Develop, design and test software for Fortinet products
Design architecture of the data lakehouse, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and efficient
Implement new features according to identified specifications
Maintain, tune performance, and support implemented software products
Assist with customer issue troubleshooting and bug fixing
Maintain and document code using source control systems
Skills Required
8+ years of projects/industry experience with system design and development
Strong understanding of data architecture principles, big data technologies, and AI applications in cybersecurity
Experience in system development of SIEM or relevant data analysis platforms
Knowledge of databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and data mining
Knowledge of database APIs and SQL language
Experience in database performance tuning
Software development experience in Unix/Linux environment
Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Good communication skills, self‑initiative, responsive and responsible
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree (Masters or PhD is an asset) in Computer Science or a similar degree
The Canada base salary range for this full‑time position is expected to be between $140,000 – $170,000 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
