About the Role The Customer Success Engineering team is dedicated to providing a seamless support experience for Remitly customers worldwide. We empower our global operations teams to ensure customers get the help they need, whenever they need it. As a member of this team, you will be directly responsible for enhancing both the customer and agent experience, ensuring frictionless access to support.
As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will focus on driving innovation and expanding our next-generation Customer Success platform by architecting new workflows and launching high-impact capabilities. You will build rich, intuitive user experiences that empower our agents and customers alike, while integrating Agentic AI for inbound contact handling and back-office automation. This is a high-visibility role, ideal for someone who wants to make a significant impact, take ownership, and learn.
You will be responsible for workflows that immediately impact our core user experiences while collaborating with world-class Product and cross-functional engineering teams.
You Will Lead the technical strategy and systems of the Customer Success Technology engineering team.
Contribute to the architecture and technical roadmap of our software systems, balancing short-term goals with long-term scalability and maintainability.
Uphold high engineering standards and bring consistency to the many codebases and processes you will encounter.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to understand requirements and translate them into scalable, high-quality software solutions.
Architect and implement solutions for complex, ambiguous problems encompassing frontend interfaces, backend systems, and agentic AI applications to deliver rich user experiences, optimized contact handling, and back-office automation.
Troubleshoot and debug issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to ensure the reliability and performance of our applications.
Report directly to an Engineering Manager within the Customer Success Technology organization.
You Have Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
6+ years of experience in software engineering in a team environment.
Experience as a lead, working on both frontend and backend, delivering delightful experiences for internal and external users.
Experience leading other engineers on large features in collaboration with Product Management and other partners.
Exposure to Dev Ops practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Hands-on experience leveraging modern AI development tools (such as Claude Code, Git Hub Copilot, or Cursor) to accelerate development, debugging, and code optimization.
Bonus:
Experience or exposure to AI engineering applications is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits Compensation Details:
The starting base salary range for this position is $152,000 to $190,000 CAD. In Canada, Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
