We are currently hiring a Mobile Application Developer to join our Digital Technology team based in our Head Office in Burnaby. As a Mobile Application Developer, you'll play a key role in the design, development, support, and evolution of BCAA's Task Marketplace mobile application. You'll build scalable, secure, and intuitive mobile experiences using Flutter across iOS and Android, while supporting integrations with cloud, enterprise, and third-party services.

Working closely with Product Owners, UX, solution architects, Digital Technology teams, and external partners, you'll contribute to the technical direction of the mobile platform while helping deliver reliable experiences across task assignment, scheduling, in-app messaging, marketplace payments, notifications, and location-aware workflows.

• Design and develop cross-platform mobile features for the marketplace using Flutter and Dart, delivering to both iOS and Android from a single codebase.
• Build secure, scalable, accessible, and high-performing mobile features.
• Contribute to the application’s technical architecture around statement management, navigation, offline behavior, and the boundary between client and backend services.
• Develop real-time messaging and scheduling experiences that perform across varying network conditions.
• Translate product, UX, and operational requirements into technical designs and delivery plans.
• Develop integrations with internal services, third-party platforms, APIs, and cloud-based capabilities.
• Act as a technical lead for the mobile application and contribute to the platform roadmap.
• Partner with solution architects, security, infrastructure, and delivery teams on technical decisions.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, support impacts, and opportunities to improve the platform.
• Conduct code reviews and promote consistent mobile development and engineering practices.
• Mentor developers on mobile patterns, secure coding, testing, and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, defects, and operational issues while supporting root cause analysis.
• Monitor application performance, reliability, and user experience to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support release planning, deployment validation, technical debt remediation, and platform sustainment.
• Design and implement secure integrations across mobile, cloud, enterprise, and third-party services.
• Support automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, environment management, code signing, certificate management, and deployment automation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4+ years of mobile application development experience for iOS and Android.
• 3+ years of experience in building mobile applications using Flutter and Dart.
• 3+ years of experience with cloud, APIs, integrations, Dev Ops, and production support.
• Working knowledge of Swift and Kotlin, with hands‑on experience writing platform channels or native modules to bridge Flutter to platform specific APIs.
