Software Development Engineer; ML Platform

• We’re seeking a Senior Engineer to shape the tooling and infrastructure that power the next generation of scalable AI / ML products at Remitly
• In this role, you’ll collaborate with AI / ML, data science, and infrastructure teams to design systems that enable seamless AI / ML experimentation, training, deployment, serving, and evaluation
• You’ll report to the ML Platform Engineering Manager and play a critical role in defining and building the foundation for Remitly’s future AI-driven products
• Design and build backend services in Go on AWS to support high-scale AI / ML workloads
• Develop and enhance core AI / ML platform offerings—including Feature Store, ML Orchestration, and Model Deployment & Serving—with a focus on performance, reliability, and usability
• Partner closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and software engineers across multiple domains to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Drive infrastructure optimization and automation, improving system scalability, reliability, and developer velocity
• Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to align engineering initiatives with product and business goals

8+ years of experience developing production applications, ideally in Go or Java Experience deploying and maintaining containerized applications and supporting systems that utilize containerization2+ years of experience working on platform and / or infrastructure teams

Experience with modern CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Git Hub Actions, Jenkins)
Experience building and operating core ML infrastructure (e.g., model serving, ML orchestration, feature stores, research environments)
Strong cross-team collaboration skills, with experience working directly with product and stakeholder partners
