Job Description & How to Apply Below

This is your chance to be a key driver of LMI's GoPxL product platform.

GoPxL's web application is how every one of our customers experiences our sensors - it is where they configure inspections, visualize live 3D data, and diagnose problems on the factory floor.

You'll be building new features, influencing application architecture, shaping the UX, and pushing real-time 3D visualization to run smoothly on embedded hardware.

This is an ideal time to join, as your work will directly influence the final product.

If you are a developer who gets satisfaction from owning a feature end to end - from an ambiguous idea, through design and implementation, to rock-solid shipped code - and who wants to help steer a product's direction, this is the role for you.

As a Front End Software Developer II you will:
Write high-quality TypeScript and React to deliver features in our embedded web GUI Take full ownership of driving features from concept to deployment.

Deliver new capabilities on our new codebase while proactively refactoring components, tightening state management, optimizing rendering performance, and standardizing interfaces for long-term scalability.

Collaborate directly with Product Management to break down ambiguous requirements into actionable technical user stories.

Help refine team Agile (Jira) processes and ensure engineering trade-offs prioritize real end-customer value.

Partner with UX/PM to shape designs rather than just consume them.

Bring an eye for what looks good, advocate for the user's perspective, and turn proposals into polished implementation.

Use AI tools to create mockups yourself.

Use AI tools and personal initiative to step "+1" outside the core frontend boundary.

Proactively explore and collaborate across adjacent domains to ensure seamless full-stack integration and end-to-end feature delivery.

When a feature needs a change on the other side of the API, we want you reaching for it, not filing a ticket.

Write robust UI code designed for 24/7 factory automation.

Own your own testing, maintain meaningful unit and integration tests (Jest), profile and fix performance regressions.

Bring your ideas to the table.

We are a team of ~20 professionals, and your voice will be critical in shaping the technical roadmap and product evolution.

Education and Qualifications (Must Haves) 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a heavy focus on building and maintaining the front end of modern web applications.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Strong, hands-on proficiency with TypeScript, React, and modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS/LESS/SASS.

Solid grasp of component design, state management, and browser fundamentals.

A demonstrated track record of carrying features from vague requirements to shipped product, including the design conversations, the testing, and the follow-through.

The ability and desire to see features from the user's perspective and to propose improvements in UX and performance on your own initiative.

Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD development environments, and web unit/integration testing frameworks (e.g.

Jest).

Strong problem-solving ability, clear communication, and a desire to work in an Agile team environment.

Excellent proficiency in English (both written and verbal), and able to converse skillfully with AI agents.

What Sets You Apart (The Desirables) Comfort reading and contributing outside the front end.

For example, a REST or Web Socket API, a C++ service, a build pipeline, a test harness.

We are looking for an application developer with a front end focus, not purely a front end specialist.

Experience with typed arrays, Web Sockets, Web Workers, WebGL/OpenGL, or parallel and multithreaded programming.

Familiarity with 3D imaging, machine vision, point cloud data, or robotics - or genuine eagerness to learn it.

Experience collaborating in Figma or similar tools, and contributing to a shared component library or design system.

Interest or experience in using AI tools (e.g.

Claude, Gemini, Copilot) as a force multiplier - for example, optimizing personal workflows or creating AI agent skills…
