Full Stack Engineer; Backend-Focused

G&A ROBOT INC. is a Vancouver-based smart food and beverage automation company. We operate automated coffee and beverage machines across universities, transit hubs, hospitals, and other public facilities.

We re looking for a Full Stack Engineer who loves building reliable, scalable backend systems and is just as comfortable shipping polished features on the frontend. About 75% of your time will go to backend work and 25% to frontend work. You ll own features from design to production, help shape our microservice architecture, and improve how we build, test, and deploy software.

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs in C#, Java, or Kotlin
• Build and evolve a microservice architecture: service boundaries, inter-service communication, data consistency, and resilience
• Build user-facing features with Type Script and a modern frontend framework
• Own and improve CI/CD pipelines and the deployment process, so releases are fast, safe, and repeatable
• Work on Dev Ops practices: infrastructure, containerization, monitoring, logging, and alerting
• Write clean, tested, maintainable code, and take part in code reviews
• Work closely with product, design, and cross-functional team to turn requirements into working solutions
• Troubleshoot and fix production issues, and take ownership of system reliability

• 3 - 5 years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong backend experience with C#, Java, or Kotlin
• Solid hands-on experience with Type Script for frontend development
• Proven experience designing and running microservices in production
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD (e.g., Git Hub Actions, Git Lab CI, Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins) and Dev Ops practices
• Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience with relational and/or No

• Excellent communication skills: you can explain technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical people
• Self-driven: you take ownership, work well with little supervision, and push work forward on your own

• Experience building or integrating payment systems, such as payment gateways, transaction processing, reconciliation, PCI DSS compliance, or idempotency and handling failures in financial flows
• Experience with event-driven architecture and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, etc.)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi, Bicep)
• Experience in fintech or another highly regulated industry
