Chief Mate Position at RiverFlow Dredging

Location: New Westminster

Take on the Chief Mate role at River Flow Dredging aboard the River Flow Spirit, a dredger operating in the Fraser River. This position emphasizes navigation, supervision, and crew management.

As a Chief Mate, you will report directly to the Master while handling watchkeeping duties and assuming command when necessary. Your expertise will drive the optimization of dredging operations and ensure that maintenance procedures are followed. You’ll be instrumental in instructing crew members and maintaining safety and efficiency on board.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage navigation watch and oversee dredging operations

• Instruct crew on best practices and procedures

• Ensure compliance with safety equipment maintenance

• Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of the vessel

• Input data into the electronic maintenance management system

Requirements:

• Chief Mate Certificate of Competency preferred

• Marine Medical Certificate required

• Certification in STCW Basic Safety

• Proficiency in survival craft and firefighting

• Eligibility to work in Canada
