Logistics Manager

Position: Logistics Manager )
We are hiring a Logistics Manager to oversee and coordinate the planning of logistic operations for a major Canadian supplier of raw materials used in construction and infrastructure.
Responsibilities   Develop logistics plans and contingency strategies.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate deliveries to customer job sites.
Oversee loading and unloading activities, including ports, yards, and job sites.
Supervise preventative maintenance procedures, including pre/post trip inspections.
Monitor inventory levels and maintain records for materials in transit and on site.
Resolve delivery issues and keep stakeholders updated on status.
Coordinate with Operations teams on handling, storage, and distribution of materials.
Hire, lead, coach, and support staff.
Ensure staff training is completed, including health and safety, operational procedures, and other required competencies.
Evaluate, negotiate contracts, coordinate, and manage transportation vendors.
Enforce health and safety regulations, best practices, and company policies designed to promote a safe work environment.
Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage logistics budget.
Qualifications   Degree or diploma in logistics, supply chain, or related discipline.
Certifications in logistics or supply chain preferred.
5+ years of logistics leadership experience in construction, raw materials, aggregates, or related space.
Proven staff management experience.
Strong knowledge of Ontario’s transportation laws.

Experience with international shipping, including seaway, ports, and customs.
Proficiency with office productivity tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Setting   Primarily working in the office, with occasional trips to yards and customer sites.
Occasionally requires extended hours.
