This is a full-time permanent position, with the opportunity to learn and grow. The successful candidate can expect a competitive base salary of $66,300 annually, depending on experience.

The Class 1 Professional Driver is responsible for the movement of freight to and from all locations within the GVFB Distribution Network. Acting as a GVFB brand ambassador, the Class 1 Professional Driver is exceptionally communicative, safety-focused, and integral to the GVFB’s local, regional, and provincial Logistics Strategy. In addition, this individual builds relationships with our donors and vendors, delivers to our distribution sites, and provides warehouse support through machinery operation and shipping/receiving procedures.

This is a multi-faceted, highly engaging, and important role within the GVFB, requiring a team player with a positive attitude, willingness to learn, a solid understanding of operations, and the ability to act as a GVFB champion.

• Operate all varieties of vehicles such as vans, medium-duty trucks, and tractor-trailer units to pick up and deliver food products locally, regionally, and provincially;
• Complete comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip inspections, report defects and damage of the vehicles to ensure safety and reliability using digital inspection technology;
• Thorough understanding of Commercial Driving and all safety regulations;
• Load and Unload vans or trucks, with an understanding of weight capacities, to maximize efficiency and load distribution;
• Prepare, check, weigh, load, and ship all assigned orders, ensuring proper paperwork or data entry is completed;
