Position: Shipper + Invoicer - contract, FT + PT

We are currently seeking one full-time and one part-time Shipper + Invoicer at our Burnaby location, part of our Purity Life Grocery division, both for a 6-month contract.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

The Shipper + Invoicer is responsible for ensuring that all outgoing orders leave the warehouse efficiently, timely and professionally, providing the best possible service for the customer. They problem‑solve as necessary to ensure orders go out correctly, optimize the use of internal delivery vehicles and local carriers, and may take on additional functions within the warehouse as assigned by Warehouse Leadership.

Safety procedures must be followed at all times.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

a. Shipping:

Work with the Shipping team to accurately ship all outgoing orders, ship‑outs, and pick‑ups.

Establish daily shipping priorities and schedule pick‑up times with carrier companies via email and phone.

Communicate daily with Purity drivers regarding any overlap or switching of orders and prepare or adjust the appropriate paperwork.

Optimize the use of the ship‑out area for workflow patterns and space organization to maximize efficiency.

Maintain a day‑to‑day overview of skids in the shipping area and notify Customer Care or Shift Supervisor of any uncertainties.

Ensure all pieces of the order are included, the piece count is verified, and the orders are well‑built and secure for shipping. Notify the appropriate person or department if problems arise.

Be familiar with shipping companies and personnel, conveying relevant information to the workgroup.

Use pallet mover and other equipment to load Commercial Carrier trucks with orders for delivery.

Use pallet mover and other equipment to consolidate orders from the three zones: dry, cooler, freezer.

Assist in expediting any “add‑ons” to orders ready to leave that day.

b. Invoicing:

Use warehouse software to select orders, print shipping labels, complete invoicing and produce other required paperwork for deliveries.

Ensure all paperwork is accurate, legible and signed correctly, consolidating any invoices for items added after the original invoicing. Investigate discrepancies between paperwork and orders.

Ensure appropriate paperwork reaches Customer Care.

Be familiar with the shipping schedule and daily priorities for orders going out.

Keep adequate records of outgoing daily shipments as specified by Warehouse Leadership.

c. Returns:

Ensure items returned to the warehouse are authorized by Claims, complete paperwork, and notify Stocker for restocking.

d. Other Duties:

Maintain the ship‑out area to keep it clean, safe, organized and easily visible.

Provide input and suggestions for improvements or problem‑solving related to shipping.

Perform general warehouse duties as directed by Warehouse Leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS + EXPECTATIONS:

Knowledge of basic warehouse procedures and protocols, including order entry, picking, invoicing, freight consolidation, shipping and deliveries.

Knowledge of loading ramp operations and equipment capabilities.

At least one year of experience in a similar shipping role.

Clear, friendly, professional communication skills in person, on the phone and via email.

Ability to work with paper documentation and accurate counting skills.

Ability to meet tight deadlines and stay organized.

Comfortable troubleshooting situations in real‑time.

Good technical literacy and aptitude for learning new software.

Physically fit and able to perform demanding work, lifting up to 50 lbs.

Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, reaching and operating machinery.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The full‑time position runs Monday to Friday, 6am to 2pm, on a 6‑month contract. The part‑time position runs Saturday, Sunday and Stat shifts, 9am‑5pm, also on a 6‑month contract. The starting rate is $24.02 per hour, and any shift longer than 5 hours includes a 30‑minute paid meal break.
