Connex Education is working in partnership with local primary schools to recruit enthusiastic and dedicated KS1 Teachers for opportunities starting in September 2026. We are particularly looking for teachers with a strong understanding of Key Stage 1 teaching, including phonics, early reading, writing, mathematics and developing confident, independent learners.

• Deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons across the KS1 curriculum
• Support pupils’ development in phonics, reading, writing and mathematics
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Manage behaviour calmly and consistently
• Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and school staff
• Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents
• Follow school policies and contribute to the wider school community

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or pending QTS
• Recent teaching experience, placements or strong subject knowledge within Key Stage 1
• A good understanding of the KS1 curriculum, particularly phonics, early reading, writing and mathematics
• Knowledge of effective assessment and classroom practice
• A calm, positive approach to behaviour management
• The ability to create engaging, inclusive learning environments
• Excellent communication skills, reliability and a flexible approach to working across different school settings
• A current DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new one through Connex Education
