Are you seeking an opportunity to develop your career within a dynamic SME business? This well-established organisation, based in Eastleigh, is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover.

This role is ideal for an experienced Accounts Assistant ready to take on a pivotal finance position, managing end-to-end accounting processes with a focus on payroll and multi-entity operations.

What will the Accounts Assistant role involve?

  • Managing the complete accounts process, including ledger entries, reconciliations and associated finance activities
  • Overseeing payroll for approximately 50 employees, ensuring timely and accurate processing
  • Handling payments, supplier invoices and treasury-related activities
  • Supporting VAT return submissions and other compliance-related responsibilities
  • Assisting with ad hoc projects and financial analysis to support operational objectives

Suitable Candidate for the Accounts Assistant vacancy:

  • Proven experience in end-to-end bookkeeping and payroll processing
  • Familiarity with Sage or similar accounting software, particularly within multi-entity environments
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Reliable and professional approach, with the ability to manage a varied workload effectively
