Job Title: Court Support Officer (Customer Service & Administrative Support)
Location: Burnley
Our Client, a reputable government organisation, is hiring for a dedicated Court and Hearing Support Officer to join their team in Burnley.
What you’ll be doing :- Prepare courtrooms and hearing rooms, ensuring all equipment and materials are ready for proceedings.
- Manage hearing flow, call cases into court, and liaise with judiciary, legal teams, and clerks.
- Support court users, including witnesses, jurors, and members of the public, providing clear information and assistance.
- Administer oaths, operate recording equipment, and maintain accurate hearing records.
- Provide face‑to‑face, telephone, and written support to users, signposting to relevant services and responding to enquiries.
- Handle administrative tasks such as processing case files, court orders, warrants, and managing post and stationery.
- Support enforcement procedures, including financial assessments and data entry, ensuring compliance with data protection policies.
- Contribute to health and safety checks, facility management, and safety governance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support diverse users.
- Calm, professional, and adaptable under pressure.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow procedures and exercise sound judgement.
- Competent IT skills for data entry and administrative tasks.
- Flexibility to work across different locations as required.
- Experience in customer service or administrative support within a busy environment.
- Knowledge of court or hearing processes is advantageous.
- Ability to handle sensitive information securely.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
37 hours per week, Mon - Fri
£12.86 per hour for the first 12 weeks, £13.25 after this period
