A specialist SEMH school in Burnley is looking to appoint a dedicated and proactive SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with behavioural and emotional needs. This is an excellent opportunity to join a structured and supportive school where your role will have a direct and meaningful impact.
The Role – SEMH Teaching AssistantIn this SEMH Teaching Assistant role, you will provide 1:1 and small‑group support
, helping pupils engage with learning and develop more positive behaviours.
A key focus of the role will be managing challenging behaviour using consistent, structured approaches. You will support pupils in improving emotional regulation, building resilience and re‑engaging with education in a safe and supportive environment.
You will act as a calm and reliable role model
, setting clear expectations while offering encouragement and guidance to pupils who require consistent support.
- Up to £600 per week
- Full‑time, long‑term SEMH Teaching Assistant role
- Immediate start available
- Specialist training in behaviour management and SEMH support
- Excellent experience for careers in education, psychology or youth work
- Experience in youth work, SEN, care or sports coaching highly desirable
- Resilient, confident and composed under pressure
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
