Library Assistant | Burnley & Pendle | Salary £25,949 - £25,989 Per Annum Pro Rata | Permanent | Part Time | Various Hours

We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer‑focused and digitally confident individual to join our library teams.

What you'll be doing

As a Library Assistant, you'll support the delivery of a high‑quality library and information service.

This includes:

  • Assisting customers with accessing digital resources and information.
  • Supporting in the planning and delivery of events (e.g. author events, class visits).
  • Engaging with customers to promote reading for pleasure.

You will be appointed to a library base(s), but there will be an expectation that you will work at other libraries as required.

Hours of work are listed against the available post and are a set working pattern over two weeks; please see the rota attachment at the bottom of the advert. These hours cannot be changed.

The posts available are:

  • Pike Hill Library – 18 hpw
  • Brierfield Library – 15 hpw
  • Colne Library – 18 hpw
What we’re looking for

Our ideal person will be welcoming and friendly, have a love for reading and be passionate about sharing this. You will have excellent communication and digital skills, be able to work with a range of stakeholders and be able to deliver a customer‑focused service.
