Position: LEARNING MENTOR ACADEMIC - INTERNAL INCLUSION

LEARNING MENTOR ACADEMIC – INTERNAL INCLUSION

– 1 posting – Grade 6 (pt 11‑19). Part‑time, permanent, 32.5 hours per week (8:15–15:15, Mon–Fri). TTO + 1 week.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised learning mentor to support students in Maths, English and Science, and lead our Year 7 Transition Support Programme. The successful candidate will establish positive relationships, identify small‑group interventions, analyse data, and advise the inclusion referral panel. The role fosters ambition, respect and belonging, improving self‑esteem, confidence and learning readiness for all pupils.

Responsibilities
  • Build rapport with students, parents and teachers to promote excellent learning.
  • Identify and provide small‑group interventions in Maths, English and Science.
  • Analyse curriculum data to support referral routes into small group provision.
  • Advise the inclusion referral panel on academic support needs.
  • Lead the Year 7 Transition Support Programme, delivering targeted, structured support.
  • Report progress and collaborate with the wider school to maximise student outcomes.

  • Be eligible to work in the UK.
  • Complete an enhanced DBS disclosure (and other required recruitment checks).
  • Have relevant experience or training in supporting diverse learners.
  • Demonstrate commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
