Full job description

Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Mentor (SEND) to join a well-established and supportive Primary school in the Burnley area.

The position is full time, 5 days per week, due to start in September 2026 and is an ongoing long-term role.

    Full-time, 5 days per week, 8:15am – 4pm (one day to have a 3:45pm finish)
  • Daily Rate: £80 – £100 per day (dependent on experience)
About the Role
  • Ensure any barriers to learning are identified and overcome.
  • Work closely with staff and alongside children and their families, providing high quality care, advice and support.
  • Work with children and families across the whole school; from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Be committed to pastoral care and collaborative working.
Ideal Candidate
  • Hold a relevant NVQ level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
  • Be confident when communicating with a variety of professionals in different contexts including face to face meetings.
  • Be willing to spend time working with children in their classrooms when required.
  • Has experience of working with SEND children and families within EYFS, KS1, and KS2 mainstream school.
  • Has experience of nurturing child interaction and behaviour.
  • Is resilient, reflective and committed to working as part of a team.
  • Consistently has high expectations both for themselves and the children in their care.
  • Will ensure children are supported socially, emotionally and academically to make progress from their starting points.
  • Be committed to the safeguarding of children and young people.
  • Provide details of the last two latest references, covering the last five years' work history.
  • Possess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of your registration.
  • Be willing to complete a face-to-face registration and satisfy several checks.
