Position: SEND SPECIALIST HIGHER LEVEL TEACHING ASSISTANT (HLTA)

SEND SPECIALIST HIGHER LEVEL TEACHING ASSISTANT (HLTA)

Grade GRADE 7 (PRO RATA Term Time plus one week).

Salary £32,061 to £36,363 (Full Time Equivalent). Part‑time, term time only on a pro‑rata basis.

Overview

Join our team as a SEND Specialist HLTA to support expanding pupil numbers and provide PPA cover across the school. A good understanding of KS1 and KS2 curriculum is essential to support pupils with cognition and learning needs.

Responsibilities
  • Teach all primary subjects.
  • Use themes and topics to create meaningful links across learning.
  • Work with the curriculum team to prepare resources and lessons for each class, ensuring learning is meaningful, accessible and ambitious.
  • Provide individual support and liaise with class teams to support curriculum planning and implement pupil strategies.
Qualifications
  • Essential qualifications and experience as detailed in the full person specification.
  • Desirable:
    First Aid Qualification, Medical Training, Price/Team Teach, relevant SEND training such as ELKLAN, Colourful Semantics, etc.
Experience
  • Supporting pupils with SEND, particularly cognition and learning needs.
  • Understanding of curriculum adaptation in English and Maths.
  • Experience liaising with class teams to support curriculum planning and individual pupil strategies.
