We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and nurturing Learning Key Stage 2 (LKS2) Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and welcoming school community. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children in Years 3 and 4, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.
Working closely with class teachers and the wider school team, you will help create a positive and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive and achieve their potential.
Learning Key Stage 2 (LKS2) Teaching AssistantLocation: Burnley
Salary: £14.25 - £15 per hour
Contract Type: Full-time
Hours: 8.30am – 3.30pm
Start Date: 1st September 2026
- Support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning within the classroom.
- Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
- Assist pupils with varying learning needs, ensuring all children can access the curriculum.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement.
- Help prepare and organise learning resources and classroom displays.
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and pastoral development.
- Contribute to assessment and monitoring of pupil progress.
- Assist with educational visits, school activities, and extracurricular opportunities as required.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals where appropriate.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within Key Stage 2.
- Be passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be patient, caring, and adaptable in their approach.
- Have a positive attitude and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Show a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or be willing to undertake appropriate training (desirable).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
