Learning Mentor - Primary School (Burnley)
We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Burnley that is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Mentor to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children's emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and engagement in school life.
The RoleAs a Learning Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting pupils who may need extra help to access learning. You'll work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and families to remove barriers to education and help children thrive both academically and personally.
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils across KS1 and KS2
- Supporting children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs (SEMH)
- Helping to improve attendance, behaviour, and engagement in learning
- Building positive relationships with pupils to boost confidence and resilience
- Liaising with teachers, parents, and external professionals where needed
- Promoting a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
- Experience working with children, ideally within a primary school or education setting
- A calm, patient, and approachable manner
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- A genuine interest in supporting children's wellbeing and development
- Ability to manage behaviour positively and consistently
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Teaching Assistant, Youth Work, Psychology) are desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07 % statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position, with the possibility of becoming permanent at a later date.
