We are looking for caring, reliable and enthusiastic Unqualified Teaching Assistants to work within specialist schools and alternative provisions across Burnley. You'll be supporting both primary and secondary-aged pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assisting students with additional learning, communication and emotional needs.
• Helping to create a safe, positive and engaging learning environment.
• Supporting teachers with classroom activities and behaviour management.
• Encouraging students to develop confidence, independence and social skills.
• Working across a variety of specialist provisions to meet the individual needs of each setting.

• Personal or professional experience supporting children or adults with additional needs.
• A positive, patient and resilient approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Flexibility to work across schools in the Burnley areas.

• An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service (UDS), or willingness to apply and pay for a new Enhanced DBS.
• A minimum of two years' employment references.
• The right to work in the UK.

• 109.85 per day.
• Term-time only working pattern.
• Consistent Monday to Friday hours (8:30am-3:30pm).

This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date. Spencer Clarke Group work with a variety of schools covering a wide geographical area. We deal with teaching placements at Primary, Secondary, Special Education needs and college level as well as support staff positions also within these.
