To be considered, you'll need:
- A 2:1 degree or above in English Literature, English Language, Creative Writing, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related subject
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above
- A Levels at Grade C or above, or an equivalent Level 3 BTEC qualification
- A genuine passion for education and a desire to become a secondary English teacher
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Full right to work in the UK
The Role
From your first day, you'll become a valued member of the English department, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4 while developing the knowledge and practical skills needed to become an outstanding teacher.
You will:
- Support teaching and learning in English lessons
- Deliver targeted literacy interventions to individuals and small groups
- Provide one-to-one academic mentoring
- Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation
- Develop your classroom practice under the guidance of experienced English teachers
- Build the confidence and experience needed to progress into teacher training
