Sen Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and helping them reach their full potential? We are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school community.

This rewarding role involves providing individual support to a pupil with additional needs, helping them access learning, develop confidence, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.

Salary: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour

Contract:

Full-Time: 8.30am - 3.30pm

Start Date:

Monday 2nd November 2026

• - Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs.
• - Assist the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in classroom activities.
• - Implement strategies and interventions as directed by the class teacher and SENCO.
• - Support the pupil's social, emotional, and behavioural development.
• - Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, independence, and engagement.
• - Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• - Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support the pupil's individual needs.
• - Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

• - Experience working with children, ideally within an educational or SEN setting.
• - Knowledge of additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, or learning needs.
• - Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• - A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
• - The ability to adapt learning and support strategies to meet individual needs.
• - A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• - Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
