Year 3 Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking a passionate 1:1 Year 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school. This rewarding role involves providing dedicated support to a Year 3 pupil, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential both academically and socially.

Location: Burnley
Salary: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour
Contract: Full-Time 8:30am – 3:30pm
Start Date: Monday 2nd November 2026

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide individualised support to a Year 3 pupil throughout the school day.
• Assist with classroom activities and adapt learning materials where required.
• Support the pupil's social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Encourage engagement, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to implement support strategies.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children in a school, childcare or support setting.
• Has a calm, patient and nurturing approach.
• Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Is committed to supporting children's emotional wellbeing and educational progress.
• Has experience supporting pupils with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH or learning difficulties (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
